What I Do
Destination Trip Preparation
Structured preparation to build skill and readiness — including casting, gear considerations, working with guides, and fishing strategy — so you arrive ready from day one.
Fly Casting Instruction
Personalized instruction that builds efficient, repeatable casting skills for local fishing and destination travel, and for those who want to simply learn or advance their fly casting. Lessons emphasize practical mechanics and drills that hold up in real fishing situations — not just on the practice field.
I teach beginners through advanced single-handed fly casting.
Industry-Partner Friendly Approach
I work alongside fly shops, travel planners, and guides to help anglers prepare and succeed on their trips. Well-prepared anglers have better experiences and get more from their time on the water.
Preparation Matters
Destination fly fishing trips often require a meaningful investment of time, money, and anticipation. Too often, anglers spend valuable days adjusting casting mechanics, dialing in gear, or learning tactics that could have been addressed beforehand.
Preparation helps ensure your time on the water is spent fishing — not figuring things out. It’s also part of the fun and anticipation leading up to a trip.
My role is to help anglers arrive ready so they can make the most of every opportunity.
People are saying the nicest things
I was a complete beginner in spring 2025. After a few months with Dale, I’m now very confident in my casting and feel prepared for the types of fish I want to target. His instruction gave me a real understanding of the mechanics, allowing me to diagnose and fix my own casting issues.
